F.P Guiver & Sons Ltd remains one of the few family owned Independent Funeral Directors in Leigh on Sea, Essex. We were established around 1900 by Frederick Parker Guiver.
We have an office in Rayleigh Road, Eastwood, Leigh-on-Sea. Our main office is in Southchurch Road, Southend on Sea.
Leigh on Sea is a lovely town boasting a varied high street and numerous churches including the 15th-century church dedicated to St Clement.
Leigh on Sea (Old Leigh) is also a fishing and boat-building town and has been a prosperous port since the 1500s.
Leigh also has a railway station serving the main line to London.
Leigh on Sea doesn’t have a crematorium but there is one in the neighbouring Southend on Sea, in Sutton Road. Leigh’s Cemetery is on London Road near Tankerville Drive but is now at capacity so can only be used for burials in existing graves. Sutton Road Cemetery is now the main one for residents of Leigh on Sea.
As an independent company, we have the flexibility to be more personal and bespoke. We arrange funerals of all religious denominations and non-religious, too.
We also liaise with Southend’s foreshore office to accommodate scatterings of ashes from Southend Pier.
